Volunteers at the Ranch

tipoli1Do you want to contribute to the community?
Do you like animals?

This offers a way to help and contribute to the needy, to volunteer for the benefit of children, youth and adults who suffer from difficulties, who are disabled or who have special needs alongside the relationship with animals.

Therapeutic riding is performed with the co-operation between the rider, the horse and the instructor or helper.  In many cases the instructors required help during the riding lessons, and especially in cases where the instructor or helper's full attention needs to be devoted to the rider.

The volunteers assist with keeping an eye on the rider, leading the horses (walking in hand or lunging).  They take an active part in the exercise and games part of the lesson and form an integral part of the therapeutic riding lesson.

The volunteers help the instructors at fixed hours and on fixed days such that a relationship is formed between the rider and the instructor and so that the volunteers contribute towards the success of the therapy.  Accordingly, it is important that the volunteer can consistently come on the day and time scheduled.  It is possible to volunteer on any day (except for Saturdays and High Holidays in Israel) during the morning and/or afternoon hours (according to volunteer's availability and wish and in accordance with the needs of the riding school).

Who is appropriate to be a volunteer?

- Youth as from 14 years and adults;
- Those who love animals;
- Those who have the desire and wish to help;
- Those who are able to communicate on a personal level

Preference will be given to those with a background in horses and riding.

The appropriate training will be given to volunteers who are found appropriate after an introductory meeting at the ranch with the person in charge of the volunteers.
